Some ways to tell if you have a drainage problem are; wet/soggy ground, lawn mowers sinking and leaving tracks, puddles, and mold/fungus/mildew. If your lawn slopes resulting to waterflow under the house, this could cause major long term damage. Standing water in your yard should not last longer than 30 minutes after a storm. Mildew and mold are likely to be present when you have areas that are damp, dark, and moist. Having these present in your home can often result in allergenic and respiratory problems.

Does rain water from your down-spout cause washouts in your planting beds? These problems can have simple solutions. Properly installed drainage lines carry water away from your house and into the proper area.
